Senior Front-End Engineer

Built on more than 25 years of experience in cartography and drawing on more than 80,000 sources of data, HERE has created a "Living Map", with maps for nearly 200 countries, voice guided navigation in 94 countries in more than 50 languages and live traffic information for 32 countries.




As a senior front-end engineer, you will work at the intersection of UX design and implementation. You'll be embedded in an interdisciplinary team developing the HERE UX & UI framework and corresponding front-end components for web and mobile apps.


You will collaborate closely with UX and visual designers and technical project managers to conceive, develop and implement modular UI for specific key products and prepare them for general use by other teams as well.


You will also collaborate with those teams to establish a common front-end baseline and institute a shared repository in an open collaboration model.





  • Closely collaborate with UX owners, interaction specialists and visual designers to create innovative and usability driven front-end solutions.
  • Advise and collaborate with UX designers on overall UI framework and application architecture.
  • Support designers in timeline design and extend designs with a focus on transitions and animations. Prototype.
  • Generalize solutions and create a consistent and reusable library of UI components for web applications.
  • Support teams in adoption of this toolkit with documentation and consulting.
  • Advocate, maintain and update the shared component repository
  • Integrate new component types developed by other developing teams into the library
  • Help establish an open collaboration model with other developing teams




  • BS degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Web development experience (HTML5 /Javascript/CSS: Full stack is best, Angular2-based is welcome)
  • A strong portfolio/demo applications
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.


Great Additional Skills


  • Mobile development Experience (Android/iOS)
  • Fluency in one or more of: C#, Objective C, C++ or Java
  • Experience with vector and motion graphics and / or WebGL
  • Research / Human Factors
