Responsibilities

SUMMARY

 

HERE is seeking a Manager- Strategic Alliances (China Lead) to drive the execution of strategic alliances and partnerships in alignment with the HERE strategy, and to support the implementation and operation of HERE’s strategic alliances in China and APAC more broadly. The ideal candidate will bring relevant work experience, strong intellectual capacity, deep intellectual curiosity, and a passion for executing and delivering results to support the growth initiatives of HERE. The role is an international role that will require a skilled and experienced professional with a proven track record of negotiating value added alliances. This position will be based in Beijing, China and reports to the Director, Corporate Development, APAC (based in Singapore).  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Supporting the implementation and operation of HERE’s existing strategic alliances in China as well as future strategic alliances in other APAC countries.
  • Supporting internal business units in the identification of gaps in HERE’s current capabilities or roadmap and the identification of target companies that could fill those needs.
  • Engaging with third parties to identify areas for collaboration and interest in creating long-term, value-added partnerships.
  • Leading the structuring and negotiation of commercial licensing agreements and alliances in line with HERE’s corporate and project goals and objectives.
  • Developing relationships with internal and external business partners and initiating dialog concerning business models and frameworks for partnership.
  • Conducting deal benchmarking analyses, initial drafting of term sheets, contract review and general deal management activities.
  • Working across functions internally and externally to ensure timely close of transactions.
  • Championing and supporting innovative partnering strategies particularly across HERE business units.
  • Providing thought leadership and support related to the evolution of Corporate Development strategy.
  • Participating in other highly visible ad-hoc projects, as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in a business, technical or engineering field. MBA preferred.
  • 6+ years professional work experience, with preference given to candidates with experience in location products and services, software, technology, and management consulting. Start-up experience is also highly desirable.
  • Capable of leading and influencing team members in a complex environment.
  • Strong business and financial acumen. Robust analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills with the ability to deliver on detail as well as strategy.
  • Demonstrated capacity to think through complex problems with creativity as well as synthesize solutions with thoughtful analysis (both quantitatively and qualitatively).
  • Strong organizational, communication, attention to detail, project management and time management skills required.
  • History of working directly with partners and engaging in productive dialog leading to conclusive agreements and partnerships.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, at ease with both business and technical topics. Comfortable presenting to executives.
  • Keen understanding and appreciation of a methodical approach to negotiation, including a working knowledge of the key elements of term sheets, contracts, and various-types of commercial business transactions.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry, and consumer technology is preferred.
  • Excel and PowerPoint expertise.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and has very good English language skills.
