We are looking for experienced senior or lead engineers to perform research & development related to building highly accurate maps from crowdsourced sensor data collected by fleet vehicles. These maps must be sufficiently accurate to support autonomous vehicle driving applications.

Responsibilities

We are staffing for several senior or lead positions relating to algorithm development, machine learning, and software development and deployment for cloud platforms. Successful candidates will work closely with automotive OEMs to develop systems for processing data sent to the HERE cloud from their series production vehicles into published maps that are downloaded and continuously updated in vehicles. These roles will support a wide range of R&D activities relating to end-to-end processing of data collected from fleet vehicles, from data analysis of sensor data to development of map learning algorithms from multiple data sources.

The teams involved in this project are geographically distributed: occasional light travel may be required.

Specifically, we are looking for motivated, self-starting, experienced M.S. or Ph.D.-level research engineers to contribute in one or more of the following areas:

  • Sensor data processing, cleaning, and analysis
  • Development of map learning algorithms

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Ability to code in Python or C/C++, and preferably both
  • Familiarity with scientific development tools in Linux
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in technical subject (mathematics/computer science or similar focus)
  • 2-5 years’ experience in scientific R&D engineering roles
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and customers
  • Ability to simultaneously be comfortable with uncertainty, and to press hard toward a development goal
