You are embedded in an exciting, newly formed, highly motivated organization that is an integral pillar of our map building strategy. Your role as Sr. Data Acquisition Analyst (m/f) will be to lead sourcing activities for a variety of high importance map content categories that are key for our future products. You will pursue the establishment of key private and governmental relationships across several markets in the region that will help fulfil our strategic objectives for location-data requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a broad understanding of the data market and supplier segmentation as well as of the local government dynamics to include identification and development of relationships with key decision-makers in the region.
  • Creation of sourcing plans based on organizational strategy and map requirements/gaps.
  • Execute sourcing strategies by selecting optimal mix of suppliers (e.g. priority setting, business value, trade-off decisions, etc.) to meet regional goals and meet scope, budget, timeframe and quality requirements.
  • Negotiate commercial and legal terms of the required supplier agreements.
  • Execute all required contracts and purchase orders and manage the administrative tasks related to supplier management.
  • Identify market trends and provide feedback on potential opportunities and threats to leadership and Product Management.
  • Build relevant cross-departmental and cross-functional relationships (e.g. Legal, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Economics, Marketing or similar
  • 5+ years of proven and relevant work experience
  • Experience with supplier or customer relationship management, business development, and ability to build, sustain and leverage effective networking relationships
  • Convincing and persuasive “can do” attitude, with high goal orientation
  • Self-starter with ability to operate independently
  • Strong organizational, planning and project management skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Analytical capability to assess the performance of suppliers against criteria such as quality, cost, reliability, and ability to innovate
  • Familiarity with Sourcing and Vendor Management software preferred
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of Maps and Location-Based services is a plus
  • Fluent in English, other languages (e.g. French) are an advantage
  • Travel requirements up to 20%-30%
