Overview

The Planning Manager (Technology & Roadmap Planning) is a regional role, responsible for driving technology initiatives and optimal scenario plan for RMC, based on strategic planning goals. The primary focus on this role is to manage Capture and Build program in APAC with the main focus in Drive workstream but potential to expand to other areas; work on new technology and processes to improve speed and cost in map building efforts. He/she shall drive strategic planning roadmaps, with 1-3 years horizon including key scenarios and monitor deployment, track result, build and communicate mitigation plans.

 

This individual will interface with colleagues in a number of different departments to ensure alignment of objectives and deliverables. Area of responsibility may span from idea conception through execution.

Responsibilities

  • Building and maintain 1-3 years regional strategic planning roadmap / scenarios based on Business Value, regional product roadmaps, global planning metric. Understanding and documenting all dependencies and risks linked to your planning roadmaps.
  • Effectively manage regional APAC key technology initiatives and programs (Capture & Build), and ensure success in regional KPIs. Support the region on technology improvement objectives, milestones, metrics and resource allocation model.
  • Encourage new suggestions from APAC RMC team, and drive the development required with Global team via game plan process. Ability to find workaround solutions in challenging situations, such as tool limitations or resource constraint to achieve objectives. Explore new solutions by analyzing tools, data and processes that could add value to RMC products and processes related to topics the individual is handling.
  • Collaborate with Global Planning and Engineering team to establish standardized processes for global deployment. Act as program manager to facilitate end-to-end conception to deployment for the region. Good technical knowledge of map database is an added advantage.
  • Identify best practices within the region/from other regions and implement scalable process and tool improvements throughout APAC RMC organization.
  • Drive operational costs improvement, sustainable automotive quality standards, and increase throughput to Core Map.
  • Implementation effective communication and information sharing. Participate and host weekly meetings with the Global/ Regional/ Countries team. MOM sharing and SharePoint maintenance. Preparation of regular monthly management report, reporting on global program and analysis of issues.
  • Managing and mitigating risk - escalating to stakeholders when appropriate.
  • Support product development needs in conjunction with Global Ops Team. To define, assess and drive operational approach to new world products and/ or changing spec.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or university degree in preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in project / program coordination / management / cross functional experience in regional role. Preferably in the space of Information Technology.
  • Strong program management skills to drive and influence from idea creation to implementation and execution. Individual with analytical mind and strong problem solving skills are desirable.
  • Ability to operate with self-initiative in ambiguous/dynamic situations. Able to accommodate changes in roles and responsibilities, and organization change.
  • Understanding of spatial data products/operations, key technology trend and big data analytics knowledge is an added advantage. Ability to learn technical aspect of map building business.
  • Ability to scenario plan using industry standard model/practice to drive to long term strategic plan.
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Suite Products; general knowledge/ability to learn Tableau/Looker business analytics and reporting tool, JIRA project management tool and other internal tools used by HERE organization.
  • Good English communication and writing skills with the ability to develop strong business case and comfortable to present in front of senior leadership team.
  • Able to look at the detail aspect of work to understand the problem and relates back to the overall goals.
