We are looking for a candidate that will employ broad software technology expertise along with solutions selling skills, this role will bridge the gap between customer requirements and HERE products and services to deliver innovative, customer driven location-based solutions into on-demand, smart-cities, adtech, mobile, fleet, tracking, government, web and other consumer and enterprise market segments.  This position will be based in Berkeley, CA with flexibillty to work remotely in the San Francisco Bay area.


Be the go-to technical expert:

  • Evangelize, demonstrate, and prove the capabilities of HERE Open Location Platform and HERE Technical Assets
  • Remove technical and competitive blockers to sales
  • Lead cloud security, privacy, and compliance discussions as part of the sales cycle
  • Understand and articulate how our Technical Assets contribute to offerings proposed to the customer and to the overall value proposition.
  • Design and architect solutions that will deliver against identified customer requirements and associated problem definition.
  • Develop implementation plans for taking projects from a conceptual phase to full-scale production
  • Develop and communicate project specifications/progress and maintain ongoing dialogue, including escalations, when appropriate to management and product development teams.


Coordinate technical team resources for sales opportunities:

  • Provide direct technical expertise for opportunities in one or multiple domains of knowledge
  • If needed, identify other necessary technical skills required to win the opportunity, assemble and orchestrate cross-workload solutions with other Technical Sales Engineers and/or Technical Support organization
  • Engage and work with partners when required in competitive sales cycles
  • Provide feedback to sales, product marketing, and product management on current and future product requirements


Stay sharp and share your knowledge:

  • Continuously nurture and expand your technical, sales, and competitive readiness
  • Participate in internal HERE technical communities and in the broader industry through events, blogs, whitepapers, and articles for your domains of expertise


  • Works highly independently with regular engagement and direction from the Director and Vice President
  • Drives and motivate cross functional groups within HERE to meet and exceed expectations on program deliverables
  • Ensures that all HERE programs and projects follow the HERE Program Management engagement model. This includes completing all required program deliverables, standards and best practices.
  • Impact is to both current and future business. Influences business unit results and/or customer relationships
  • Accountable for achieving portfolio level goals, managing cost performance and ensuring achievement through people and processes
  • Decisions, action and errors will normally impact current and future business



  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research or equivalent required, Grad. Degree preferred
  • Certifications: PMI desired
  • Work Experience
  • 12+ years of relevant technical experience of which 5+ years in technical pre-sales, technical consulting or similar roles
  • Proven track record in major account/customer management (e.g., Enterprise customers)
  • Proven track record in architecting and delivering large-scale software solutions to market
  • Excellent oral presentation skills incl. the ability to simplify complex thoughts/ideas


Industry Experience:

  • High technology B2B or B2B2C experience required
  • Strong technical application solution selling experience with preference towards Cloud applications and services
  • Knowledge of identity, authentication, security, privacy, and compliance topics regarding Cloud services
  • Solid understanding of high-availability, high throughput and low latency Web Services
  • Sound understanding of mapping technologies including map content, geocoding, navigation, GPS, routing, positioning, local search, tile rendering and traffic
  • Thorough understanding of Agile software development philosophies and methodologies - particularly the tools and practices around SCRUM
  • Working knowledge of Android and iOS mobile operating systems.
  • Hands-on knowledge of defect tracking systems such as Jira and Bugzilla
  • Strong use of collaboration tools such as Confluence wiki and SharePoint
  • Ability to use HERE’s APIs and SDKs to develop sample and demo apps in Java, Objective C, C++, Python, etc.
  • Understanding of AdTech industry and technical architectures for exchange platforms, demand-side and supply-side platforms is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of one or more segments including government, fleet, smart-cities, on-demand, mobile, web, tracking, semiconductor and other consumer and enterprise markets is highly desirable



  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) for appropriate interaction across all management levels
  • Proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong cross-team working relationships and collaboration
  • Strong soft skills including active listening, diplomacy, dispute resolution, negotiation
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral.
