Responsibilities

The CTO Data Science and Machine Learning team is expanding in Seattle. We are searching for atechnical program and project manager with expertise in big data platforms, applied machine learning/AI and predictive analytics. We are looking for candidates that are entrepreneurial, highly motivated and want to shape products and implement pioneering technologies that impact millions of people every day!

 

Our team is a mix of hard core data scientists, data engineers and analysts, focusing on applying machine learning to HERE's internal processes and to our unique datasets to produce new data products. Our mission revolves around extracting maximum value from a myriad of data sources across the HERE organization, building predictive analytic models, and helping drive best practices across HERE regarding data collection, instrumentation, privacy, and accessibility. This includes conceptualizing, specifying, and helping drive implementation of platform level analytics products such as A/B testing, recommendation models, user profiling, and location profiling.

 

The ideal candidate will have technical project and program management skills as well as significant experience working closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers and other analytics professionals. You will use your skills to help manage applied ML/AI projects, coordinate deliverables with our internal clients and product managers, and network through our global team to uncover high value opportunities for the team in our generally project-focused and consultative environment. The job will involve multiple projects, in various stages (from conception to implementation), at any given point in time, driving ongoing research, internal consulting, competitive analysis, and thought leadership on data and advanced analytics topics.

 

  • Passionately evangelize and support the team’s capabilities both within the company and externally with customers
  • Work closely with Solutions, developers, customers, executives, operations, and other internal constituencies to gather requirements, develop scenarios, and identify opportunities for applying machine learning to improve company processes and product offerings.
  • Monitor progress through implementation and ensure the project stays on track, delivered on time, with existing resources.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with customers,  across teams and across levels of management
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, and dependencies between internal teams
  • Provide visibility and ensure flow of information between teams and stakeholders by providing regular reports and driving meetings.

Qualifications

  • At least 7+ years industry experience with advance analytics products/technologies, including some familiarity with at least one of the major tools of the trade, such as R, Python Numpy and Scikit_learn, SAS, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills: must write, speak and present information effectively to technical or non-technical persons
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to work with senior leaders to gain sponsorship and establish strategies
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and at least one project management tool
  • Ability to think creatively at the tactical and strategic levels
  •  Proven ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities in a highly agile environment
  • Previous experience managing data science/advanced analytics projects
  • Product/program management experience a plus
  • True passion for their work and desire to make their projects succeed
  • Technical BS/BA required (Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, etc.)  Masters or MBA a plus
