  • Overview

    The Database Engineering role performs vital function in continuous statistical data monitoring and product certification to ensure on time product deliveries that meet internal specifications and customer expectations.  This includes defining development requirements for data monitoring and product certification, and, in addition, creating supplemental queries and/or scripts on multiple data sets. These queries and scripts are geared towards finding critical data errors and opportunities for automation/optimization. This analysis includes investigation on customer reships/ delays, customer inquiries, validations, and to support other important project deliverables, such as product release notes. Database Engineers also perform specialized tasks, data analysis and participate as key members in project teams.


    • Manage new or existing projects with emphasis on defining requirements and implementing queries/scripts for constraining erroneous data from entering the database, data validations and statistical analysis on the database to enable high quality product delivery. This may include work on Agile projects;
    • Execute the Certification Process Prior to Product Delivery to confirm product meets requirements.
    • Create and execute database queries and scripting based on criteria from Internal and External Stakeholders to find and quantify critical errors;
    • Create and execute database queries and scripting to support project and cleanup efforts;
    • Support analysis for customer and/or internal queries;
    • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Validation, Extraction, and additional tools;
    • Work closely with the Development teams to help prioritize the work and provide acceptance criteria;
    • Work closely with the Production teams to help identify quality issues;


    • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience;
    • Excellent knowledge and practice various Production Tools & Processes;
    • Good knowledge of Quality Processes (QIL, QC, AQUA, ICE, 8D, etc.);
    • Ability to utilize software tools in order to query, format, and analyze data is a serious PLUS (SQL, Tableau, Python, Excel macro, etc.);
    • Ability to work and create queries in Arc is a plus;
    • Overall needs an ability to review details at a technical level;
    • Excellent knowledge of Database Specifications;
    • Ability to prioritize and balance many tasks at once on tight timelines;
    • Knowledge of Release Process is a plus;
    • Ability to work well on cross functional teams and drive continuous improvements;
    • Flexibility - ability to work on several different types of projects and tasks at once (including HD Maps);
