  • Who are we?

    The Instructional Design team supports an array of training material development requests to support the Global Production Operations (GPO) centers. Instructional Designers apply knowledge of cognitive science, research skill and creative ability to develop technical training curricula, learning materials and assessments for online and instructor led environments, serving production staff at centers located in India, Mexico and the Netherlands.

     

    An Instructional Designer works closely with the ID Manager and an assigned Senior Instructional Designer to create and execute recommended and agreed training strategies. An Instructional Designer must collaborate with subject matter experts, the broader PLPD team and other relevant stakeholders to manage large and complex programs. 

     

    What's the role?

    • Collaborate with ID Manager and Senior Instructional Designers to help execute large and/or complex instructional design projects.
    • Use of standard instructional design frameworks and models, such as ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick, Bloom’s Taxonomy and Howard Gardner, among others.
    • Familiarity with lean wastes, KPIs and other standard business operations measures as part of evaluation strategy recommendations.
    • Collaborate with ID Manager and relevant stakeholders within and outside of PLPD and GPO to assess and make recommendations regarding training strategy, design, development, implementation and evaluation to achieve learning and performance objectives associated with assigned projects.
    • Learn how to recommend instructional delivery methods based on complexity of content and diverse learning styles, such as individual or group instruction, instructor-led, self-study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, and role-playing, appropriate for content and learner characteristics.
    • Interact with relevant subject matter experts to identify and gather necessary SOP, specification, user guides, system access and other source materials necessary to create learning content. 
    • Utilize team templates to facilitate rapid development of training materials.
    • Learn agile methodologies to design and develop training materials, including lesson plans, facilitator guides, exercises, assessments, participant guides, evaluation tools, etc.).
    • Conduct train-the-trainers with assigned delivery PLPD Business Partner to support instructor led training, webinars, interactive e-learning, just-in-time videos and the like.
    • Adapt existing instructional content and/or delivery methods, as required, to meet the needs of different, evolving tools, processes and job competencies.
    • Manage schedules to ensure timely completion of all deliverables. 
    • Stay abreast of new technologies and research in the instructional design field to apply improved methods, tools and technologies, as applicable. 
    • Manage assigned projects by using team’s standard id process checklist.

     

     

    Who are you?

    • Bachelor level degree in Instructional Design or Graphic Design or an alternate Bachelor level degree with substantial course work related to adult education, design and development of learning material and multi-media communication.
    • Advanced degree in a related field or minimum two (2) years of experience in design and creation of multi-media adult learning materials.  Instructional Design experience in a technology based industry and workplace environment is preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills including presentation, written and verbal in the English language.
    • Advanced computer skills including authoring tools such as Captivate® V9, Camtasia, Flash, Learning Management Systems and Microsoft Office®.
    • Ability to collaborate with internal and external groups to innovate, drive change, resolve problems and positively influence business measure outcomes.
    • Strong process oriented skills with self-initiative to drive continuous improvement.
