    We are looking for a customer facing Strategic Program Manager to own and operate customer-driven programs within Highly Automated Driving (HAD) Delivery.  This individual will be the voice of the customer among our development teams and the voice of our capability teams in front of the customer working to drive new product and technical capabilities to fruition.  Aligning customer activities with our ongoing program operations will be your biggest challenge.  This extremely visible role requires an ability to bounce between engineering mindset to relationship management quickly with a heavy bias for action.

    What's the role?

    General Responsibilities for a Program Manager:

    • End-to-end project management involving complex business and technical solutions centered around the early requirements-, solution design- and validation phases of a customer engagement (strategic programs).
    • Instill a high degree of confidence in HERE’s Sales, Product and R&D organization and the customer with respect to getting things done as planned, on-time and on or under budget
    • Overall responsibility for communicating customers’ product needs to HERE divisions as well as closely aligning with the respective sales and customer support organizations to ensure consistent support throughout HERE’s customers worldwide.
    • Anticipate where technology and markets are headed and provide leadership in communicating and aligning HERE and its customers toward that direction
    • Develop solutions for customers that are commensurate with their needs keeping in mind the needs and objectives of HERE
    • Serve as customer advocate while balancing HERE internal needs and initiatives
    • Keep up to date with new industry and technology trends in order to maintain skill set and overall effectiveness

    General Accountabilities on a tactical – operational level:

    • Prioritize tasks, set expectations, formally document program requirements and plans and report progress regularly
    • Drive and motivate cross functional groups within HERE to meet expectations on program deliverables
    • Responsible for managing customer needs and expectations internally to ensure internal initiatives reflect customer business and technical requirements
    • Responsible for escalating customer requests and technical complaints to relevant company departments and for providing answers to customer inquiries
    • Manage technical relationship with customers in support of HERE's strategic programs including conflict resolutions, managing customer expectations, negotiations and communication

    • Willing to travel up to 25%

    Who are you?


    • BA/BS degree in e.g. Computer Science, GIS or related field; or equivalent.
    • 8-12 + years in major account/ customer management experience
    • Excellent technical background in Engineering and/or GIS
    • Extensive hands on experience in implementation of software/data products area of business is a significant plus
    • International work experience and additional languages (i.e. German) a big plus
    • Automotive industry experience required
    • Wireless, Telematics industry experience is a big plus
    • Proven track record in delivering large-scale programs to market
    • Ability to provide project management to distributed cross functional teams, manage issues cross-functionally and remotely
    • Working knowledge of product management processes (including product vision; customer requirements)
    • Proven ability to interface with all levels in HERE and customers; to manage up, down, and across effectively
    • Experience managing complex programs across multiple disciplines, including engineering, production, subcontractors, marketing, sales, & distribution, and at varying positions in the value chain
    • Critical thinker with strong organizational and problem solving skills
    • Meticulous attention to detail, with results oriented focus
    • Works well independently, with little supervision, as well as with groups
    • Demonstrated ability to work in various cultural environments
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
    • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to deal with all levels in an organization
