    The Regional Map and Content Products (RMC) team, led by Luther Siebert, combines Regional Product Management and Global Field Operations. RMC is managed as three distinct regions: Americas, EMEA and APAC.  Each region is organized into sub-regional teams that combine field operations and product management personnel under one sub-regional leader. This combination improves empowerment and local ownership, streamlines decision-making and reduces overhead in the business.  Additionally, each of the three regions maintains a planning organization reporting to the regional leader. 

    What's the role?

    The Director, Planning & Central Operations (PCO) serves as the lead planner and Head of Planning & Central Ops team at the global level for the Core Map Regional Map & Content (RMC) Division. This role is a global resource for the otherwise regionalized map and content teams – reporting directly to the Vice President, Core Map Group (CMG) Regional Map and Content. The Director, PCO-Global leads a direct team of ~10 resources and is accountable for strategic performance management, annual budget planning & monthly forecasting, operations roadmaps, and strategic initiatives.  This role also manages the RMC contribution to CMG and HERE level strategic and operational planning – ensuring that operational realities and key cross-functional dependencies are considered as input to CMG level Strategic Programs and Integrated Roadmaps.  The PCO-Global team also serves as the RMC interface for key global partners – representing RMC requirements with our Engineering, Business Intelligence, Finance, and other Support Teams. The Director, PCO-Global also serves as the broader PCO functional leader – responsible for coordinating global alignment across the Regional and Sub-Regional PCO entities.

     

    Main Responsibilities:

     

    Inform RMC investment decisions and drive strategy execution through planning & analysis, strategic performance management, and strategic programs/initiatives.

    • Overall Strategy Governance & Performance Management (Establish KPIs; Cascade; Assess for Action)
    • Serve as the RMC “Chief of Staff” driving and coordinating collective staff actions and serving as lead/individual contributor on RMC and CMG strategies & analysis.
    • Set-up governance and process to enable quarterly rolling planning, with monthly adjustments & lead Annual Budget & Capacity Planning
    • Support CMG/RMC Integrated Roadmap Planning; drive engineering capability investments (Milestones; Game Plans)
    • Drive Future Operations via requirements management and change/deployment (Initiatives/Strategic Programs)
    • Serve as the overall PCO functional unit leader – serve as member of the RMC Organizational Engagement and Effectiveness Core Team – driving best-in-class planning & operations management across the regions and sub-regions
    • Own the overall RMC “Planning & Management” architecture – ensure L3 Processes, Team SOPs, and support systems evolve in-line with our evolving approach to managing business & operations

    Scope:

     

    Direct Reports w/team total at ~10 (in current set-up).  Indirect (broader PCO function is closer to ~100). Must be capable of leading people – both in a supervisory role and/or indirectly.  Requires strong ability to influence people across a highly matrixed organization and ability to effecitvely communicate with senior management.

     

    Impact Decision Making:

     

    High Impact.  Directly impacts ~€80M in OPEX/Capacity allocations and operational roadmaps enabling nearly 1B euro in content revenue. 

    Who are you?

     

    • Undergraduate degree required
    • 10+ years; including relevant operations experience; including 5+ years team-leadership experience
    • Exemplary Planning Skills; ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects/assignments
    • Exceptional Analytical Capabilities; framing, data gathering, modeling, analysis
    • Systems Proficiency; Tech Savvy
    • Excellent oral/ written communication and presentation skills required
    • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills; ability influence and manage others without direct authority
    • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office applications required, specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word
    • Ability to function and self-motivate in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed and often ambiguous environment
    • English fluency required
    • Domestic and International travel (up to 20%) required
