The Transportation & Logistics team in Americas is focused on selling into the Enterprise/Business Solutions market segment for medium to very large-sized accounts within the Fleet / Mobile Asset Management / 3PL segment, as well as with Transportation and Supply Chain providers. As a HERE Solution Manager, you will cut across our Product Teams, Customer Industry Teams, Solution Architecture Teams, and others to manage the full lifecycle of HERE Customer Solutions. You’ll inject a customer-first, solution-centric point of view into product development plans and roadmaps, work with Solution Architecture and Customer Industry Leads to ensure that underlying reference products and holistic customer solutions are realized in-line with market imperatives, and work across our highly matrixed product, sales, and support organizations to drive solution scalability and profitable top-line growth.
o Translate customer jobs to be done as defined in partnership with solution architects into internal business cases & feature/capability requirements for product & engineering teams
o Identify how existing products and technology assets connect to potential solutions, and identify gaps/needs for product improvements and/or new product capabilities as needed for successful solution development
o Define additional dependencies to ensure competitive solution offering e.g. partner capabilities, professional services’ needs – and associated technical requirements
o Serve as primary liaison with product and engineering teams as part of on-going business case reviews and justification – helping manage trade-offs as necessary
o Ensure holistic and vertical integration dependencies across product and engineering teams are clearly identified and defined as part of accountability model for product teams
o Partner with cross-industry solutions managers and peer customer organization teams to articulate broader value-propositions and needs where necessary
o Manage holistic and deal-level solution business case/justifications; ensure solution-level profitability and overall contribution to product/portfolio profitability
o Own and manage solution lifecycle and gate (solution phase development) deliverables, including consideration for ‘solution readiness’ definitions – e.g. pricing & commercial readiness, collateral & training, competitive insights, route-to-market (channel/partner options)
o Define gate deliverables as part of solution lifecycle
o Co-ordinate and facilitate gate review readiness and deliverables as part of HERE’s lifecycle management and stage-gate milestones
o Oversee all aspects of solution development & deployment; working closely with relevant product managers to align underlying product and component roadmaps
o Manage solution from inception through production, implementation and post-implementation phases of solution management
o Continually assess solution competitiveness and relevance & develop new strategies to improve the solution as necessary
o Identify end-of-life (EOL) milestones and appropriate sunsetting processes
o Typically, a subject-matter-expert (SME) in specific industry or market segment e.g. Automotive, Transportation & Logistics, Consumer Technology, Public Sector or Tech/Media/Telco
o Keeps up to date with new industry and technology trends in order to maintain skill set and overall effectiveness
o Undergraduate degree required
o Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems preferred, alternatively education in Business Administration (Masters in Business Administration preferred)
o 6 – 9 years of successful experience in SW solutioning & management either in platform/cloud or professional services, sales or customer organizations.
o Experience in building business cases and using ROI modeling
o Understanding of contemporary and vastly used technology concepts such as SOAP, REST, GraphQL
o Candidate has direct experience working in and with Agile development teams and Product Development Life Cycle
o Working knowledge in disruptive technology concepts: AI, machine learning, Big Data & Analytics and Autonomous Driving
o Strong partner orientation – readily identifies and qualifies partner needs and opportunities -and works well with internal product and engineering teams
o Working knowledge of SW development principles (including CI/CD, DevOps; customer requirements)
o Proven track record in delivering large-scale solutions to market
o Experience cooperating in complex deliverables across multiple disciplines, including engineering, production, subcontractors, marketing, sales, & distribution, and at varying positions in the value chain
o Ability to operate in highly distributed teams
o Ability to with across functional teams, manage issues cross-functionally and remotely
o Proven ability to interface with all levels in HERE and customers; to manage up, down, and across effectively
o Prior technical product development and/or solution management experience, preferably gained in a cloud engineering and platform environment
o Excellent skills in communication and messaging, relationship building and networking for appropriate interaction across all management levels.
o Demonstrated ability to influence others (persuasion) and strong value selling and negotiation capabilities to achieve a preferred business scenario (e.g. win-win)
o Experience in motivating cross functional teams
