    What's the role?

    As a Data Acquisition Analyst, you will lead HERE's Data Acquisition activities primarily in New Zealand and within Oceania sub-region as required. You will engage and build trusted relationships with the local data providers to acquire high quality spatial data.


    Your main responsibilities include:

    • Conducting market research to identify potential data suppliers
    • Pursuing suppliers of spatial data including Government and Commercial sector, arrange meetings, presentations and follows up with suppliers
    • Building, managing and growing relationships with data suppliers in the local market
    • Conducting preliminary high-level source evaluation
    • Negotiating commercial and legal terms to acquire datasets
    • Executing all required contracts and purchase orders and obtain datasets.
    • Developing and managing a data acquisition pipeline to deliver on the requirements of the business
    • Supporting the Data Acquisition team on their non-sourcing tasks: Tracking, data entry, follow-up, administration related to the supplier management system
    • Coordinating with other teams to conduct initial supplier data evaluation to ingest data to build or enhance HERE's offerings.
    • Promoting HERE Services Value Proposition to our data suppliers
    • Representing HERE at industry events
    • Providing basic back end marketing support for the Oceania sourcing team

    Who are you?

    You are a strong fit for this role if you possess the following skills, competencies and work experience.

    • A Bachelor’s degree GIS or in any related field
    • 5+ years of relevant experience in procurement or business development.
    • Familiarity with the New Zealand spatial data market and the key government and commercial players of the market
    • Knowledge and/or understanding of Maps and Location-Based services
    • Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze data (comfortable with numbers), problem solve, prioritize and organize to achieve stated goals
    • Ability to travel up to 20% of your time.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
