    We are looking for a Developer Documentation Specialist - DocOps (m/f/x) to join our team of technical writers to curate, edit, and release professional-grade software documentation that spans the entire range of HERE products. We are a team of Technical Writers, Developers, and Project Managers, who provide documentation and internationalization as a horizontal service to the product teams across HERE. We are a team that brings together specialists from the following domains:

     

    • Technical communication skills ranging from information architecture, content strategy, editorial insights, and writing
    • The corresponding internationalization efforts to cater for a global audience
    • Tools to create, manage, and publish documentation

     

    The Technical Writers provide mentoring, guidelines and reviews to product development teams at HERE. Software Engineers, who know their product better than anyone else, receive our help to make their documentation relevant, useful and complete. The ultimate goal is to help teams keep their documentation at a sufficient level of quality to allow them to release as needed.

     

    What's the role?

    As a  Developer Documentations Specialist, you will work with product teams to ensure their documentation meets the needs of the target audience, which includes internal and external customers, third-party developers, and other stakeholders. This work includes consulting, information design, content structure, and review. You will champion best practices and train other content contributors within the company to create and maintain their own product documentation.

     

    This position requires a deep understanding of APIs, SDKs, and application design principles as well as excellent communication skills while interacting with R&D teams. Successful candidates have a clear vision of the challenges developers face and how documentation can help resolve issues. The essence of the role is to transform our current technical documentation practices. Check out some of your main tasks:

    • Evaluate API, Swagger, and SDK documentation to enable teams to focus their efforts most effectively
    • Design, advise on, and improve internal and external documents
    • Help developers create quality documents by providing templates, training materials and reviews

    Who are you?

    You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and hold a degree in Computer Science, Technical Writing, and/or associated field. You gathered 5+ years of relevant work experience as a technical writer in the software industry, writing developer guides and API reference documentation for third-party developers as well as with topic-based authoring and enjoy working in a geographically distributed team.
