About the Routing Team  

Path finding and precise estimation of travel time play a key role in varies location-based services and navigation solutions offered by HERE, such as personal route planning, logistics, delivery optimization and price estimation for ridesharing. HERE offers comprehensive routing solution (pedestrian, bikes, scooters, cars / e-cars, different truck profiles) with high accuracy travel time estimates and personalization thanks to modern Machine Learning models and cutting-edge technological stack: 

• Apache Spark and Apache Flink for data and map processing 
• Python-based ML stack for Data Science and Machine Learning (NumPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, XGBoost, PyTorch etc).  
• Mature MLOps with GitLab, Airflow, MLFlow, distributed model training and real time monitoring  

• C++ 17 for core routing functionality and Rust for high-performance cloud-native services 
• Kubernetes as a delivery platform  

About the Role 

We are looking for Lead / Principal ML Engineer to expand and take to the next level our Estimated Travel Time ML-based solutions! You will be working with modern Deep Learning models with help of HERE Routing experts and HERE Research teams (ML Expertise) improving existing models, developing new approaches and scaling up the solutions. 

• MS or PhD in a discipline such as Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science 
• Strong knowledge of statistics, deep learning and numerical methods 
• In-depth experience building and scaling production-grade machine learning software or services 
• Fluency with Python, NumPy, Pandas and modern Deep Learning frameworks (TensorFlow or PyTorch) 
• Experience with distributed data processing systems (Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Kafka, Kinesis etc) 

• Good general programming skills and software engineering skills  
• Knowledge of other programming languages will be a plus (for example, Scala, Java, C++ or Rust) 
• Self-motivated, well-organized and a strong team player 
• Very good in English communication skills, both written and spoken
