The HERE Navigation team is building a next-generation, highly customizable embedded navigation product. We are an international team of engineers, designers and product managers working in an agile environment and we are looking for an experienced and passionate Principal Software Engineer (Android) to join our team

As a Principal Software Engineer (Android) in our team, you will:
  • Participate in the full engineering lifecycle from requirements clarification, design, development, integration, testing and release.
  • Work on challenging problems and collaborate efficiently with highly technical colleagues across teams.
  • Design, develop and ship exciting new features for the automotive industry.
  • Contribute to the architecture and design of the product.

Who are you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
  • Relevant experience in Android development, ideally in Kotlin
  • Hands-on experience with object-oriented programming languages (Java, or C++)
  • Experience in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Groovy, JavaScript, shell)

Nice to have:

  • Track record of delivering embedded or mobile applications to customers
  • Extensive knowledge of software engineering best practices, covering the full software engineering lifecycle
  • Experience in mentoring engineering peers in complex technical issues, ability to influence software engineering best practices within your team
  • Experience with AAOSP (Android Automotive Open Source Projects)
  • Experience with Typescript and Javascript
