We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager in Automotive Software Development to drive innovation and excellence in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD) in-vehicle software solutions. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic product development, requiring a strong technical background, proven leadership experience, and expertise in Android development for automotive applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 5-10 developers in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for in-vehicle operating systems, interfaces, and cloud APIs
• Design and implement advanced solutions for ADAS and AD systems, with a focus on Android development, including both UI and business logic components
• Leverage modern development environments and productivity tools to create high-performance, robust applications that meet automotive safety standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, OEM partners, and customers to ensure seamless integration of applications into broader vehicle system architectures
• Define technical roadmaps and drive adoption of emerging technologies and trends in automotive software development
• Establish coding standards, review processes, and quality assurance practices for safety-critical automotive software
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing software systems to ensure high performance, reliability, and compliance with automotive standards

About the Team

This team is responsible for managing HERE's comprehensive portfolio of products and services for driver assistance and autonomous driving vehicles. Our scope covers the full spectrum of HERE's automotive offerings—from standard definition map data for basic driver assistance to centimeter-accurate lane data and services enabling hands-free driving experiences.

We create immersive in-car applications and software products that demonstrate the real-world benefits of advanced driver assistance technologies. Our work spans the entire product lifecycle: from initial ideation and market research, through pricing strategy and development, to successful market launch and customer adoption.

To achieve these goals, we maintain active partnerships with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and technology partners, ensuring our solutions meet evolving market needs and industry standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical field
• 7+ years of application development experience in Android, with at least 3+ years in automotive or embedded systems
• 5+ years of experience leading development teams and technical projects
• Strong expertise in architectural and system design for complex, distributed systems
• Proven track record in delivering complex automotive software products or custom solutions
• Strong drive for innovation and creative problem-solving mindset
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of in-car operating systems such as Android Automotive, QNX, or Automotive Grade Linux
• Experience with automotive testing frameworks and validation processes
• Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols
• Understanding of automotive safety standards
• Familiarity with Flutter for cross-platform development
• Previous experience in automotive software development or ADAS/AD systems
