What's the role?

As an HR Operations Generalist based from Eindhoven in the Netherlands, you will join the EMEA regional team that is part of our interconnected Global People Enablement team and the heart of our Human Resources organization.

In this role, you will be focused on European region-wide support, with particular focus to France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Our People Enablement team works closely with and provides key support to cross-functional HR teams like Business HR, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Payroll, and Legal, as well as to business leaders and directly with employees.

You will collaborate with global business teams and people leaders, provide insight and expertise related to core HR operations, and ensure the seamless execution of HR processes to support our employees and the organization within EMEA. You will join a direct team of 10 people that is responsible for core HR operational support to 1700+ employees in around 100 HERE offices across 30+ countries in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Our team is responsible for implementing, maintaining, delivering, and enhancing our people processes across the region with a customer-minded approach.  

In addition to your day-to-day operational responsibilities, you will also participate in global, regional, and local projects such as those supporting strategic company priorities, HR process improvements, and working closely with stakeholders through the organization to advise and collaborate with on people-related topics. Currently two projects are a primary focus for our team: the change management and process refinement of a newly implemented HRIS solution (Oracle HCM), and our overall process optimization and documentation. Both of these key projects help us to become more proactive in supporting our employees and people leaders, and puts enhanced employee experience at top of mind in our service and support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Employee Life Cycle Management - Providing high-quality HR administrative support and customer service to ensure and sustain a great full-cycle employee experience (including onboarding, offboarding, leave of absence, time-off, etc.). Delivering new hire orientations and ensuring a seamless onboarding program, leading to great new hire experience. Managing all input and adjustments of employee data in HR systems and for payroll processing
  • Employee Benefits & Payroll Support- Managing benefits administration and payroll change processing for responsible countries, including pension, meal vouchers, insurances, car allowances, etc. Partnership with the global Total Rewards team and Payroll/Accounting team for timely and accurate processing.
  • Policies - Facilitating deployment of global policies in responsible region. Proactively reviewing and proposing changes & updates to local policies, and leading employee communication of such, based on local market research of expected practices and requirements.
  • Compliance - Overall responsibility for regulatory compliance with regards to local employment laws, with proactive research and planning to support changes in local requirements. Working together with internal teams, including Legal and Payroll/Accounting, to implement changes and improvements.
  • Employee Relations- Understanding and demonstration of legal regulations and practices related to employee conduct, performance and grievance resolution.
  • Illness Management - Management of the local illness procedures, and support to employees and managers in complex sick leave cases.
  • Quality & Process improvements- Overall responsibility of ensuring HR processes and are defined, documented and adhered to, with a keen eye for attention to detail. Proactively reviewing and improving processes for alignment, efficiency and cost-optimization. Leading projects within your country responsibility to implement new ways of working.

Who are you?

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who possesses solid HR foundation, demonstrating a strong understanding of HR principles, technology, and a keen enthusiasm for employee and manager support.

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a multicultural HR shared services environment in the EMEA region, with particular emphasis on HR operational support. Experience in supporting France, Spain, Portugal, or Italy-based employees are a plus.
  • Wide knowledge of EMEA HR operations, labor laws, and best practices.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, supporting employees’ on their journey, and being an advisor to managers in their role as a people leader.
  • Well-rounded proficiency in HR services, products, policies, and processes.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient with Excel and HRIS/HRM systems (added plus if it is OracleHCM).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English. Fluency in French, German, or Dutch would be a bonus.
  • Ethical credibility & trustworthiness. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills; you are curious and ask the right questions and have the ability to analyze situations, apply critical thinking, develop and implement a fitting solution to the problem. You are comfortable navigating ambiguous assignments and proactive in seeking information or support as it is needed.
  • Change resilient: we are a fast-paced and ever-changing organization. You are flexible in your approach to work priorities and are able to navigate such changes in an easy manner.
