About the Team

The team is a Global team with team members located in Mumbai, Eindhoven, Chicago and other locations.

We safeguard quality and consistency of HD Live Map Content and Platform Services through rigorous inspection and certification, data validation and advanced analytics to elevate customer experience. We are actively engaged in process and tool development and deployment to enable product innovation and operational efficiency.

Our services are critical to customers in automotive, transportation, logistics, and the private sector. We work directly with customers to ensure that the service delivered to the end-consumer is the highest-quality data available.  We are continually looking at creative but sustainable solutions – internally and directly with customers – to ensure that our data and services will continue to lead the industry in the future.

The Engineering Team focusses on a variety of Content like ADAS, HD Live Map, and HERE Lanes. You will bring your experience and skills to a delivery focused, ambitious and highly collaborative team.

Your Responsibilities:

• Independently lead and execute complex data analytical projects, design new end-to-end processes for the conversion and use of external digital sources in the creation and maintenance of the HERE databases and related products
• Leverage technologies like AWS Services, FME, GIS tools, Python, SQL and others to transform and integrate complex data, or create products
• Provide extensive GIS and spatial data consultancy, especially focused on remote sensing, point cloud processing (LiDAR, Sensor Data) and Geo-AI
• Independently identify improvement and innovation opportunities and when applicable, drive them into the organization, dealing with possible resistance on the way
• Lead and participate in departmental and cross-functional projects, which will help to increase efficiency, quality and/or reduce costs. Apply influence within engineering division
• Maintain a good understanding of relevant technologies and initiatives, and knowledge of the HERE Database content, product specification and delivery mechanisms, including various tools and technologies utilized for database creation and maintenance in general, E2E
• Act with empathy and integrity among inter-departmental peers, so that Data Integration insight and advice reaches target. Has a developed network of people in the department. Sees bigger E2E picture
• Detect problems with data-conversion, bulk updates, or the Map databases and act on them
• Mentor and support junior GIS Data Engineers

Your background

You are a passionate engineer and willing to quickly learn new technologies. You have a unique blend of data analysis expertise and programming proficiency, with a focus on data protection and machine learning. Furthermore, you possess:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Geo-Informatics or equivalent
• Strong proficiency in Python programming (including pandas)
• Expertise in machine learning algorithms and their applications
• Solid understanding of statistical analysis and data visualization techniques
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Being able to work autonomously
• Mastery of GIS Data engineering tools and processes and related AI applications
• Good communication skills to talk to customers, sales teams, development, and production teams
• Mathematical background is a plus (understanding Splines)
