At HERE, we go beyond standard GPS. We use advanced technologies, like signals from several satellite navigation systems, sensors, and radio to provide super-accurate location services indoors and outdoors, down to sub-meter accuracy in 3D.

You will participate in the development and end-to-end testing of network positioning and high-precision satellite-navigation services. Cell and Wi-Fi measurements are used in network positioning to obtain a location fix. In satellite navigation, signals broadcast by the satellites and assistance and correction data downloaded over a network connection are used to compute a high-precision location fix. Most of the work focuses on client-side software (on devices), but some parts will also support cloud services. The software you work on will also be used in the HERE SDK.

As part of our skilled and supportive team, you will learn about topics such as:

• Positioning algorithms
• Protocols used in positioning systems
• Software testing, including automated testing and field testing in real environments using a test vehicle
• Data and test-result analysis

• You are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or you have already graduated and want to start working in the positioning domain
• You have experience in programming languages, such as C, C++, or Java
• You have a Finnish B-class driving license (must have; is required for field-testing activities)
• You are eager to learn, open-minded, and able to work in English

 Nice-to-Have Skills:

• You have used version control systems like Git
• You are familiar with tools like JIRA and Confluence
• Mobile app development (Android, iOS, or Flutter)
• Experience in Python programming language
• Experience with Android Debug Bridge (ADB)
• Knowledge of Android Auto or Automotive systems
• MATLAB or Octave for scientific computing
• Experience with positioning technologies (e.g., GNSS, radio, inertial, or vision-based navigation)
