What's the role?

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in leading high-value deals and business development? At HERE, over 60% of our total revenue is generated through Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and as a Bid Manager (BM), you will be a driving force in securing these opportunities. With a current pipeline exceeding $1 billion in potential deals, this is a unique chance to shape the trajectory of our company’s growth and be at the forefront of exciting, large-scale projects.

BMs are customer-centric and analytically minded leaders who understands the big picture, connecting customer requirements, innovative technology and business impact.  BMs are skilled in managing cross-functional teams to craft comprehensive proposals that meet customer needs.  With a focus on structured execution, they use their analytical skills to simplify and communicate complex ideas persuasively, both internally and externally. They are constantly focused on winning deals while safeguarding our company's interests.

In this role, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing Bid Team and Process: Upon bid qualification, you will form and lead a virtual bid team across various departments (Sales, Product Management, Professional Services, Quality, Legal, etc.) to ensure alignment and clarity of scope. You will define the action plan, deliverables, and RFP milestones, ensuring seamless execution by all stakeholders.
  • Defining Winning Bid Strategy: You will collaborate with the bid team to develop a compelling, competitive strategy, considering the customer context, market dynamics, and the company’s Go-To-Market approach.
  • Managing Bid Requirements: In partnership with the Bid Intake Manager, you will structure and document the customer requirements, ensuring an efficient, traceable, and high-quality response.
  • Coordinating and Governing the Bid: You will oversee end-to-end communication and collaboration. This includes gaining management approval in partnership with the Bid Assessment Manager for technical and commercial alignment.
  • Negotiating and Refining: Post-submission, you will coordinate customer presentations, refine the proposal based on customer feedback, and orchestrate negotiations partnered with the Bid Assessment Manager until final acceptance.
  • Handing Over and Optimizing: Upon successful bid nomination, you will facilitate a seamless transition to the program execution phase. You will be also gathering feedback on bid results and identifying lessons learned to continuously improve future bids.
