You will work on a range of Java and Scala projects aimed at integrating, processing, and analyzing large volumes of historical and real-time traffic data, along with related traffic events. In this role, you will be involved in every stage of the software development lifecycle,  from refining product vision and gathering requirements to system design, coding, testing, release, and ongoing support. You will follow established development processes and be responsible for meeting software quality standards, including creating and executing unit test plans. Collaboration is key in this position; you will work closely with other engineering teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Design and development of software components
• Unit and Integration testing of Software components
• Investigation and root cause analysis of software and system defects
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and programming languages
• Develop and maintain tools and processes that support development, automation testing and deployment of software components
• Develop and enhance configuration management tools for software components
• Create and execute approved test plans and analyzes and report results when necessary
• Decompose requirements for testability and provide feedback to the requirement gathering process
• Interact with customers/users to support software acceptance process and act as a liaison between development and user community

Requirements:

• Graduate or undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering 
• Demonstrated expertise building and enhancing Java-based applications; proficient in Java
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix scripting
• Experience in SQL and NoSQL technologies
• Exposure to version control tools (SVN or Git)
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with functional programming languages like Scala

• Experience developing SOAP or REST web services

• Python and BASH scripting experience

• Exposure to configuration management tools such as AWS ECS or Docker

• Exposure to Agile software development processes

• Exposure to Amazon Web Services and related technologies

• Exposure to Big Data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop

• Exposure to build/dependency management tools (Maven, SBT)
