• Designing, developing, and maintaining complex backend services using Java, Scala, or Python
• Leading the delivery of features and platform improvements with full lifecycle ownership
• Architecting, building, and operating scalable, reliable services on AWS
• Creating and communicating technical designs through clear proposals, design specifications, and diagrams
• Collaborating effectively with globally distributed engineers, architects, product managers, and cross‑functional partners
• Driving engineering best practices with a focus on simplicity, quality, reliability, and measurable impact
• Making balanced technical decisions by evaluating trade‑offs between delivery speed, quality, and long‑term maintainability
• Recommending and justifying architectural or product changes using data‑driven reasoning
• Mentoring team members and contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering culture, processes, and standards

• Strong coding experience in Java or Scala, or Python, with the ability to design and maintain complex, production‑grade services
• Hands‑on experience building and operating scalable services in a cloud environment, preferably AWS
• Experience working with distributed systems, service‑oriented architectures, and modern development practices
• The ability to communicate technical ideas clearly through written and visual documentation
• Experience collaborating with global and cross‑functional stakeholders
• A thoughtful, data‑informed approach to technical decision‑making
• An interest in using AI‑powered coding assistants (such as Copilot) to improve productivity, including writing effective prompts for coding, debugging, testing, and documentation
• A mentoring mindset and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
