You will work end‑to‑end—from research and algorithm development to production deployment—closely collaborating with researchers and engineers in an agile scrum environment. Your work will directly enable scalable, high‑quality map feature inference used across HERE’s products.

    Key responsibilities include:
    • Designing and implementing machine learning and deep learning models for map feature inference and automation.
    • Applying stochastic and optimization‑based algorithms to solve complex attribute engineering and modeling challenges.
    • Contributing to algorithm design, software development, testing, and deployment as part of a cross‑functional scrum team.
    • Developing and maintaining production‑ready ML solutions for mobile and edge‑based platforms.
    • Producing high‑quality technical artifacts such as software components, datasets, and white papers for reviews and demos.
    • Collaborating with internal and external partners to enhance existing features and deliver new capabilities to production.

Who are you?

You are a motivated and technically strong professional with a passion for applying machine learning to real‑world, large‑scale problems. You bring a balance of research depth and practical engineering experience, along with a collaborative mindset.
You have:
  • An Engineering degree, Master’s, or PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Econometrics, or a related discipline, with academic or applied focus on deep learning, computer vision, machine learning, or optimization.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the data science or machine learning field.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with at least one deep learning framework such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
  • Experience working with edge inference frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite, CoreML, or TensorRT.
  • Solid programming experience in Python and C++, along with exposure to shell scripting.
  • Practical understanding of deploying ML models in production environments, including testing and performance optimization.
