As a Software Engineering Manager, you'll have the opportunity to lead the team managing the data processing pipelines for our Platform customers on this amazing Platform as it continues to enable diverse location centric use cases for our equally diverse customers. This cross-functional and self-organized team builds and maintains distributed micro-services that manage hundreds of stream and batch data processing customer pipelines running on 100s of ec2 instances on Kubernetes clusters with 500+ nodes across multiple AWS regions.

• As a technical leader and an effective people manager you can hold your own in a technical discussion, be a subject matter expert and influence strategic product and technical decisions across organizations. 
• You understand the primary importance of hiring top talent, coaching, and developing people to bring out their best and to foster an engaged, collaborative, and respectful team culture.
• You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define technical product and business solution requirements. 
• You will collaborate on technical architectural design and review. 
• Enable the team to execute high-velocity software development, support their needs and resolve barriers inhibiting their progress.
• Communicate with senior leadership regarding progress against plans, issues, and needs. 
• Drive the team’s software development process and be accountable for conformance to software quality standards.  
• Work collaboratively with other engineering teams to ensure cross-functional goals are met on schedule. 
• Lead the team to follow Agile standards in engineering best practice.

• Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent.
• Technical leadership and people management experience.
• Solid experience in backend application development.
• Deep knowledge of software architecture, design and ability to formulate and review designs.
• Experience with high throughput, low latency, highly reliable systems at scale.
• Experience with HTTP, REST principles, and Microservices.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies a strong plus (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with containerization and container orchestration like Docker, Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, project management tools (JIRA, Git, Gitlab).
• Have experience using DevOps methodologies to drive throughput and stability.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with high availability Big Data processing Frameworks, Spark, Flink, Kafka.
• Success managing multiple geographically dispersed teams.
