Responsibilities:

• Continuously seek out best practices and develop skills.
• Work on multidisciplinary teams of data engineers, software engineers, data scientists, and business subject-matter experts to deliver complex projects on time and within budgets.
• Work with mentor to translate ambiguous and complex business problems into project charters clearly identifying technical risks and project scope.
• Take ownership for the data science workflow including exploratory data analysis, model development, and potentially deployment.
• Independently handle issues with minimal supervision, while working closely with mentor for more complex issues.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a program in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or related fields
• Experience developing and testing machine learning or statistical projects, with strong background in supervised, unsupervised, semi-supervised and reinforcement learning algorithms and modelling.
• Strong background in Computer Vision including image/video processing, object detection, classification, and tracking. Knowledge and experience on using deep learning tools (e.g. TensorFlow, MXNet, PyTorch, etc.) for image/video analytics
• Proficiency in Python (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, bokeh, matplotlib, NumPy)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Interested in learning model deployment in a production setting

This is a full-time paid internship (20 to 40 hours per week) with a fixed hourly rate of depending on your level of education as follows:

Undergraduate Students: $25/hr

Graduate Students: $30/hr

PhD Students: $35/hr
