What's the role?

The Responsible AI Engineering team is part of the AI & Analytics Infrastructure team, which is building the agentic AI infrastructure and the governance around it. As a member of this team, you will become a subject matter expert in Responsible AI while working across security, OSS compliance, and AI governance domains. You will work with a global team to build tooling, develop technical guardrails, improve compliance processes, and establish best practices for AI-enabled products and services.

 

Achieving the team’s mission of enabling safe, trustworthy, and compliant AI adoption involves a varied set of responsibilities that require different skillsets:

 

  • Responsible AI by Design: Develop tools, infrastructure, and processes that help developers, product owners, and product managers achieve Responsible AI compliance. Conduct Responsible AI assessments and provide technical guidance on risk identification, mitigation strategies, and regulatory compliance evidence. Shape company-wide processes to shift AI governance left and embed Responsible AI principles throughout the product development lifecycle
  • AI Governance Tooling and MCP Scanners: Design, develop, and maintain automated tooling for AI governance and risk evaluation. Develop and enhance MCP scanning capabilities for automated assessment of AI systems, AI agents, and MCP servers. Build infrastructure that collects risk-related metadata, performs automated analysis, and produces actionable recommendations to improve security, governance, and compliance outcomes. Develop scalable CI/CD-integrated solutions that enable continuous evaluation of AI systems and AI-related risks.
  • AI Guardrails: Develop technical guardrails that help ensure secure, reliable, and compliant AI systems. Design and implement controls for AI agents including runtime protections, policy enforcement, input and output validation, access controls, risk monitoring, and governance automation. Support teams in identifying and mitigating AI-specific risks while enabling safe adoption of emerging AI technologies.
  • OSS Compliance Support: Support development teams using the company's OSS compliance tooling and processes. Maintain and improve OSS scanning infrastructure, assist teams in resolving scan failures and compliance issues, and contribute to automation that improves the efficiency, reliability, and usability of OSS compliance workflows.
  • Software Engineering Excellence: Develop, test, deploy, and maintain production-grade software and automation solutions. Establish engineering best practices including unit testing, integration testing, CI/CD automation, code quality validation, and operational monitoring. Drive reliability, maintainability, and scalability of Responsible AI and compliance-related platforms and services.
  • Communication and training: Communicate with and support teams adopting AI technologies, produce guidelines for developers and product managers, and develop training materials covering Responsible AI, AI governance, AI guardrails, and OSS compliance processes.

Who are you?

  • Development experience in several programming and scripting languages, knowledge of Python is an advantage
  • Proven experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying software for automated execution in CI/CD environments; experience with GitLab CI/CD is an advantage.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals including testing, automation, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Interest in AI governance, Responsible AI, AI security, and AI risk management.
  • Experience building developer tooling, automation platforms, or compliance-related systems is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with AI systems, LLMs, AI agents, or agentic workflows is an advantage.
  • Experience with security, privacy, OSS compliance, or governance domains is an advantage.
  • Experience producing technical documentation, training materials, and engineering guidance is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups and translate regulatory or governance requirements into practical engineering solutions.
